Hi, I’m Sam – the proud owner of Brickies Reading Ltd.

My journey into working with children began after university, when I landed my first job in the sector. It was during this time that I realised just how rewarding and fulfilling it is to work with young people. I first discovered Brickies through a friend, and the moment I stepped into the play centre for my interview, I knew this was where I was meant to be. The vibrant colours, the joyful energy of the children building and creating, it was an instant connection.

Inspiring Young Builders in Reading

After spending many years working for Brickies, I had the incredible opportunity to launch my own franchise in Reading, bringing the Brickies magic to the community where I grew up.

The chance to introduce LEGO based creative play to even more children was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Knowing that just one hour of building can make a huge difference to a child’s day has been my biggest motivation to grow my business and reach as many young builders as possible.

LEGO – A Universal Language for Every Child
At Brickies, we believe that every child is unique, and LEGO has an incredible way of bringing out the best in each builder. Whether a child is naturally confident or takes time to find their creative voice, our workshops provide a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. LEGO has a special way of sparking imagination, encouraging collaboration, and building important skills like problem solving and communication – all while having fun. Seeing children grow in confidence, make new friends, and express themselves through building is what makes this work so rewarding.

There’s nothing more fulfilling than watching a child’s confidence grow – whether it’s through weekly afterschool clubs, holiday events, or birthday parties. Seeing familiar faces return year after year, eager for new challenges, reminds me why I do what I do.

Why Brickies is Different

At Brickies, we make sure that every visit is exciting and unique. With hundreds of different themes across our holiday events, afterschool clubs, and parties, there’s always something fresh to build. Whether it’s your first time ever touching a LEGO brick or you’re a seasoned builder returning for the 100th time, Brickies has something for everyone.

Our mission is simple:

Outside of Brickies, I have many passions that make me who I am.

Drama & Acting – I’m a Drama graduate and a former stage actor. The highlight of my acting career was performing at Soho Theatre, London with Ardent Theatre Company.

Motorcycling – I’ve been passionate about motorbikes since I was young, and I still love the thrill of riding.

Football & Liverpool FC – Football has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve played since I was a child, and I’m a lifelong Liverpool FC fan.

Becoming a Father – Recently, I became a dad, which has given me my biggest reason yet to make Brickies Reading Ltd a success. Inspiring the next generation of builders has never been more personal to me!
